Famulor Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict

Reviewed by MakerStack · Published · 7 min read

TLDR

Famulor is a German AI voice agent platform that answers phone calls, runs outbound campaigns and follows up on WhatsApp, email and SMS. It packs in more than its US rivals, but the per-minute price hides extra phone charges. Best for: EU businesses automating calls. Price: from EUR 27/mo billed yearly, free plan no (no-fee pay-as-you-go account). Rating: 7/10.

What is Famulor?

We found Famulor on Product Hunt, pitched as one agent that picks up your calls and then carries the conversation over to WhatsApp. It is run by BEK Service GmbH, a limited company registered in Kempten (Allgaeu), Germany, with sister entities listed in London and Dubai. The product sits in the crowded voice agent market next to Retell AI, Vapi and Bland, but it aims at business owners rather than developers.

Breadth is the selling point. One assistant answers inbound calls, phones lead lists, books calendar slots, replies to email and keeps chatting on WhatsApp and about a dozen other messaging channels. Everything is built in a no-code flow builder, hosted in the EU if you choose, and sold in euros. The terms say the service is for businesses only, so sole traders can sign up but private consumers cannot.

What Are Famulor’s Key Features?

Inbound and outbound calling

Point a number at an assistant and it answers each call, transfers to a human with a warm or cold handoff, collects keypad input and books appointments mid-call into Google or Outlook calendars, popular scheduling tools or the built-in scheduler. Outbound campaigns phone lead lists inside calling windows you set, detect answering machines and leave voicemails. Numbers are sold in 23 countries, or you can connect your own carrier over SIP and keep existing lines.

WhatsApp and the other channels

WhatsApp runs through the official WhatsApp API from Meta, with free-form replies inside the 24-hour service window, approved templates outside it, and WhatsApp voice calls. The pricing comparison lists more than 20 channels, from Telegram and Instagram to help desk tools and Gmail. The appeal is that the same assistant, prompt and documentation follow the customer from a missed call to a WhatsApp reply to an email.

Flow builder and Milian

You can write a classic system prompt or draw conversation paths in a visual flow builder. Milian, the workspace AI, drafts flows, prompts and guardrails from a description of the job and answers questions about your own setup. There are four engine modes (pipeline, realtime, half-cascade and a translate mode), and you pick the model and voice per assistant from a catalog that covers the major model and voice providers.

Testing, QA and white-label

Simulation testing lets one model play a scripted caller while another grades the transcript, which catches regressions before a campaign dials thousands of people. Live monitoring lets a supervisor listen in, coach the assistant quietly or take over. Agencies get a full white-label control center with custom domains, their own plans and payment handling, and the pricing page quotes reseller rates from EUR 0.11 per minute.

What Is It Like to Use Famulor?

Signup needs no card, and the account opens with 800 credits. At 30 credits per voice minute, that comes to about 26 minutes of talk time, which the pricing data on the site confirms. That is enough to build an assistant, test it in the browser and place a few real calls before paying anything.

Famulor changes fast. Its documentation changelog had several entries dated 1 and 2 October 2026 when we checked, and the docs are unusually thorough on billing, regulatory number checks and transfer charges. That depth is a good sign for a tool you will run in production.

That pace brings clutter. The pricing comparison alone runs to more than a hundred lines, with a business phone system, a talking video persona, a CRM sync add-on, a resale console and a workspace AI all competing for attention. A dentist who needs one receptionist will see far more switches than they need in the first week.

Where Does Famulor Fall Short?

Our biggest problem is the per-minute price. The pay-as-you-go card lists telephony under what the EUR 0.18 rate includes. The billing documentation says otherwise: calls on Famulor numbers add a destination-dependent phone charge on top of AI talk time, and that phone portion counts as a full minute even when it runs only part of one. Calls also carry a 30-second minimum, and call recording is charged separately.

Fee messaging contradicts itself in other places too. The pricing FAQ says there are no setup fees, and the comparison lists extra numbers at EUR 2 a month. The docs say that figure is outdated and that a standard German local number now costs EUR 2.50 a month plus a one-time EUR 5.99 setup fee, with the checkout price being the one that counts.

Plan minutes do not carry over to the next month, although top-up credits you buy do. Fees are non-refundable under the terms, including annual payments, and plans auto-renew. The terms also promise 99 percent yearly availability, while the pricing page advertises a 99.9 percent uptime SLA and also sells an SLA as a paid add-on.

Smaller inconsistencies add up. The marketing site claims 60 languages, the pay-as-you-go card says 34+ and the comparison says 45+. Ratings differ too: the pricing page shows 4.8 on OMR Reviews next to 3.8 on a large consumer review site. And pricing changed on 15 August 2026, so older reviews quoting plan numbers are already out of date.

How Much Does Famulor Cost?

Famulor starts at EUR 0 on pay as you go, with 800 starter credits and then EUR 0.18 per minute. The cheapest subscription is Plus at EUR 35 a month, or EUR 27 a month billed yearly (prices exclude VAT). It includes 100 minutes, then EUR 0.16 per extra minute, plus one concurrent call, five numbers you own as verified caller IDs and three team members.

Pro costs EUR 129 a month, or EUR 103 yearly, with 667 minutes, two concurrent calls and EUR 0.16 overage. Agency costs EUR 259 a month, or EUR 216 yearly, with 1,667 minutes, three concurrent calls, three free local numbers in six countries and EUR 0.12 overage. Scale is quoted per deal, from EUR 0.05 per minute. Yearly billing knocks roughly two months off.

Credits are the real currency. A voice minute is 30 credits, an outbound WhatsApp or chat message 5, an inbound one 0.5, an outbound SMS 50 and an automation run 3. Top-ups buy talk time at your plan’s extra-minute rate, so EUR 1 buys 167 credits on pay as you go and 250 on Agency.

Against rivals, the bundled AI rate looks fair. Bland charges $0.14 per minute on its free Start plan and $0.12 on Build with a $299 monthly platform fee, with telephony separate. Retell lists $0.07 to $0.31 per minute depending on model and voice. Vapi charges $0.05 per minute for hosting with models passed through at cost. Synthflow now sells enterprise contracts from $30,000 a year.

So Famulor sits in the middle on AI minutes and ahead on features per euro. Once you add phone charges counted in full minutes, number rental and recording, the real rate climbs above the headline figure, so run a week of test traffic before you commit to an annual plan.

Who is Famulor Best For?

Use Famulor if you run a European business or agency that wants one assistant across phone, WhatsApp and email, with EU hosting, GDPR paperwork and German law behind the contract. It also suits agencies that want to resell voice agents under their own brand without building a billing system.

Use it too if your team has no developers. The flow builder, Milian and the ready-made calendar and CRM connectors cover what Vapi or Retell would ask you to code.

Skip Famulor if you need a predictable per-minute cost for budgeting, because phone charges and minimum durations sit outside the headline rate. Skip it too if you are a consumer, since the terms exclude you, or if you only need a simple answering service and do not want a hundred settings.

Developers who want full control of every model and carrier will find Vapi a better fit, and US teams paying in dollars may prefer Retell or Bland.

Best Famulor Alternatives

Retell AI

Retell is a developer-friendly voice agent platform with pay-as-you-go pricing from $0.07 to $0.31 per minute depending on the model and voice, $10 in free credits and 20 free concurrent calls. It suits teams that want fine cost control and are happy to wire up their own channels.

Vapi

Vapi charges $0.05 per minute for hosting and passes model costs through at cost, with $5 in free credits. Its Core support package costs $29 a month and Pro has a $999 monthly minimum. It is the pick for engineers who want to assemble their own stack, though it is not a no-code tool.

Bland

Bland bundles the LLM, speech-to-text and voices into one rate: $0.14 per minute on the free Start plan, or $0.12 on Build with a $299 monthly platform fee. Telephony is billed separately. It is a good fit for US teams running high outbound call volume.

Final Verdict: Is Famulor Worth It?

Famulor is one of the most complete voice agent platforms a small or mid-sized European business can buy without a developer. Calls, WhatsApp, email, booking, QA and white-label resale all live in one workspace, the docs are thorough and the product ships changes every week. For EU companies that care about where their call data sits, it is a stronger pick than most US rivals.

Pricing needs work, though. A per-minute rate that claims to include telephony when the docs say it does not, a no-setup-fee promise next to a number setup fee, and three different language counts all cost trust. We rate it 7/10: worth a trial on the free credits, but measure your real cost per call before committing to an annual plan.
