Persodex Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict

Reviewed by MakerStack · Published · 7 min read

Persodex is an iOS personal CRM that layers notes, tags and catch-up reminders directly onto Apple’s native Contacts app. Our verdict: the right architecture for a personal CRM and a well-built first release, held back by being iPhone-only with no sync or web access. Best for: founders and networkers who live in iOS Contacts. Price: From $3.99/mo (free plan: yes). Rating: 7/10

What is Persodex?

Every personal CRM asks you to move your relationships into a new app. Persodex does the opposite. It sits on top of the Contacts database already on your iPhone and writes its tags, notes and details back into it, so there is no second address book to maintain and nothing to import. Delete Persodex tomorrow and your contacts are where they always were.

The pitch is one line: your contacts app knows their phone numbers, Persodex helps you remember who they actually are. It launched on Product Hunt on 9 August 2026, published by Asterios Digital GmbH, and version 1.1.5 shipped the same day. It requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or visionOS 2, weighs 20.8 MB, and the app itself is free with a paid Pro tier.

What Are Persodex’s Key Features?

Native Contacts sync, not a parallel database

This is the architectural decision the whole product rests on. Tags, notes and custom details sync with the system Contacts app rather than living in a silo, which means no migration on the way in and no lock-in on the way out. It also means everything Persodex knows is available to every other app that reads Contacts. Most competitors in this category are a separate database that imports a snapshot of your contacts and drifts out of date within a month. Persodex cannot drift, because it is writing to the same store.

An interaction journal per contact

For each person you keep a running log: what you talked about, where you met, what matters to them, timestamped and typed by channel (in person, phone, other). This is the actual work of a personal CRM, and Persodex presents it as a simple reverse-chronological feed on the contact card. On-device AI summaries, powered by Apple Intelligence, condense a long history into something you can read in the ten seconds before a call. Nothing is sent off the phone to do it.

Catch-up frequencies and birthday tracking

Set a cadence per contact, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly, and Persodex sends a local reminder when someone is drifting. There is a dedicated birthday calendar with countdown cards. This is the feature that separates a contact manager from a relationship tool: the software’s job is to notice the person you have not spoken to in five months, because you will not.

Six Home Screen widgets and a QR business card

Widgets cover your business card QR code, upcoming birthdays, pending catch-ups, favourites, a daily greeting and your latest notes. The My Card feature generates a personal QR business card with its own widget, so sharing your details at an event is one tap. Six widgets is more than most apps this size bother with, and for a tool whose value depends on you remembering it exists, putting catch-ups on the Home Screen is the correct move.

Tags, groups and a map view

Custom colour-coded tags and groups let you filter by friends, family, coworkers or networking contacts. A map view plots your contacts geographically, which is more useful than it sounds when you are planning a trip and want to know who is in Milan. Search in 1.1.5 was extended to look inside notes, tags, companies and job titles, so you can find someone by what you remember about them rather than by name. The app ships in English, German and Spanish, with multiple icon themes.

How Private Is It, and What Does That Cost You?

Persodex is local-only by design. No cloud account, no sign-up, no data collection, and the AI summaries run through Apple Intelligence on the device rather than through a server. For an app holding notes on who you know and what you discussed, that is the right default, and it is a real differentiator against the venture-funded personal CRMs that treat your network graph as an asset.

The bill for that decision arrives as missing features, and buyers should see it clearly. There is no sync, because there is no server. Your relationship history lives on one iPhone. iCloud does sync the underlying Contacts records, so your tags and details written back to Contacts should travel, but the interaction journal and the app’s own configuration are a different matter, and the product makes no cross-device promise. There is no web app, no Mac app and no Android version, so you cannot look someone up from a laptop before a meeting. And there is no team functionality at all, which is fine because this is explicitly a personal CRM, but worth stating before anyone tries to use it for sales.

How Much Does Persodex Cost?

The app is free to download and use. Pro is sold as an in-app purchase in three shapes: $3.99 a month, $29.99 a year, or $69.99 once for lifetime access. Those are US App Store prices and Apple lists all three on the store page. The App Store listing does not spell out which capabilities sit behind Pro, which is the main thing we would want clarified before buying.

The yearly price works out at $2.50 a month, a 37 percent saving over monthly, and the lifetime option pays for itself against the annual plan in a little over two years. For a category where Dex and Clay sit in the $10 to $20 a month range for cloud-backed products, Persodex is priced well below the field. The lifetime tier is the interesting one. A local-only app with no servers to run has no recurring cost to cover, and offering a one-time purchase acknowledges that honestly instead of charging rent for software that phones nobody. If you are going to buy it at all, buy the lifetime.

Who is Persodex Best For?

Use Persodex if you are an iPhone-first founder, freelancer, salesperson or serial networker who already keeps everything in Apple Contacts and wants context attached without changing tools. It is a good fit if you meet a lot of people at events, since the QR card and the tagging make capture fast. It is an especially good fit if you have opinions about privacy, because the local-only architecture is not marketing here, it is the reason several features are absent.

Skip Persodex if you work across a Mac and a phone and expect your notes on both, because there is no desktop client. Skip it if you are on Android, or on an iPhone that cannot run iOS 18. Skip it if you need shared visibility with colleagues, which is a real CRM’s job rather than this one’s. And be aware that the app was released on 21 July 2026 and currently carries no user ratings on the US App Store, so you are buying on the strength of the build rather than on other people’s experience.

Best Persodex Alternatives

Dex is the best-known personal CRM and works across web, mobile and a browser extension, with LinkedIn integration that pulls in job changes automatically. It syncs everywhere, which is exactly what Persodex does not do. You pay for that with a cloud account holding your entire network, and a subscription in the region of ten dollars a month.

Clay (the personal CRM, not the sales data platform of the same name) is the design-led option, building a searchable timeline from your email, calendar and social accounts with very little manual entry. It is the strongest choice if you want the log to fill itself. It also requires handing over inbox access, which is the opposite trade to the one Persodex makes.

Monica is open source and self-hostable, and it is the answer for anyone who wants full data ownership on their own server plus a web interface. It asks considerably more of you at setup, and its mobile experience is nowhere near a native iOS app. Choose it if you would rather run a container than trust anybody.

Final Verdict: Is Persodex Worth It?

Persodex gets the hardest decision right. Building on top of native Contacts instead of beside it removes the two reasons personal CRMs get abandoned: the migration nobody finishes, and the second address book that goes stale. Add an interaction journal, catch-up cadences, on-device summaries and six widgets, and you have a tool that fits into an existing habit rather than demanding a new one. At $29.99 a year, or $69.99 once, it is priced below every cloud competitor and it does not want your data.

The limits are the direct cost of that design, and whether they matter depends entirely on how you work. One device, no web access, no cross-device guarantee for the journal, and a brand new app with no ratings behind it. If your relationship work happens on your phone, none of that will bother you, and this is the best-shaped personal CRM we have looked at in a while. If you expect to open your contact notes on a laptop, it is the wrong product and no amount of good design fixes that. Try the free tier first, log a month of real interactions, and see whether the reminders change your behaviour. If they do, take the lifetime purchase.

Persodex Pros & Cons

What We Like

  • Syncs tags, notes and details into Apple's native Contacts rather than maintaining a parallel database, so there is no import and no lock-in
  • Per-contact interaction journal with on-device Apple Intelligence summaries that never leave the phone
  • Catch-up frequencies from weekly to quarterly with local reminders when a relationship is drifting
  • Six Home Screen widgets including birthdays, pending catch-ups and a QR business card
  • Lifetime purchase at $69.99 is offered alongside subscriptions, which is honest for an app with no servers to run

What Could Be Better

  • No sync and no web or Mac client, so the interaction journal lives on one iPhone
  • Requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or visionOS 2, cutting off older devices, and there is no Android version
  • The App Store listing does not state which features sit behind the Pro purchase
  • Released 21 July 2026 with no user ratings yet on the US App Store, so there is no third-party track record to judge

What are the best Persodex alternatives?

Does Persodex offer a free plan?

Yes. The app is free to download and use, with Pro sold separately as an in-app purchase.
