Plexa Trust Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict

Reviewed by MakerStack · Published · 8 min read

Plexa Trust scans your website for security, SEO, accessibility and compliance issues, scores it, and generates AI fix guides. We found an unusually transparent price ladder and one arithmetic error on its own pricing page. Best for: agencies and small e-commerce sites. Price: free plan, then GBP 9.99/month. Rating: 7/10.

What is Plexa Trust?

Plexa Trust runs more than 50 automated checks against a website and rolls the results into a single number it calls a TrustScore. The checks cover SSL certificates and expiry, security headers, exposed sensitive paths, privacy policies, terms and cookie policies, SEO signals, accessibility, email security through SPF and DMARC, DNS, robots.txt, sitemaps and security.txt. Findings are grouped by category and ranked by impact rather than dumped as a flat list.

The second half of the product is Plexa AI, which takes each finding and writes a fix guide with business impact, step-by-step instructions, a difficulty rating, an estimated time and the TrustScore recovery you should expect. The third piece is an embeddable trust badge that shows your verified score to visitors and links to a public verification page. It is built by Peter Lawrence, a solo founder, and recently went through a full rebrand and redesign. We picked it off the 11 July Product Hunt board at rank 12.

What are Plexa Trust’s key features?

One score across four different disciplines

Most tools in this space do one thing. Security scanners find headers and certificates. SEO crawlers find meta tags and broken links. Accessibility checkers find contrast failures. Plexa combines security, compliance, performance, SEO and accessibility into a single TrustScore with prioritised findings. For a small business owner who does not know which of those four categories their problem lives in, that consolidation is the whole value.

AI fix guides with expected score impact

A finding that says “security headers missing” helps nobody who does not already know what a security header is. Plexa AI generates a guide per finding, and crucially it estimates the TrustScore recovery from fixing it. That turns a list of complaints into a ranked work queue, which is the difference between a report you act on and a report you file.

Embeddable trust badges with public verification

Paid plans let you embed a live TrustScore badge on checkout pages, footers or landing pages, in light or dark themes, with WordPress, Shopify and HTML embed codes. Visitors click through to a public verification page. Whether badges move conversion is a question the vendor does not answer with data, but for e-commerce sites competing on credibility it is a real differentiator over a plain audit tool.

Scheduled scans and monitoring

The free plan gives you a scan. Paid plans add scheduled recurring scans with email alerts, so an expiring SSL certificate or a newly broken policy link surfaces before a customer finds it. This is the feature that converts the product from a one-off audit into something you keep paying for, and it is correctly placed at the first paid tier rather than held back for enterprise.

A free scan that needs no account

You can run a scan and see your TrustScore without creating an account at all, and the site says so plainly: no credit card, results in under a minute. Creating a free account unlocks the full audit report, monitoring, AI features and badges. Letting someone see the core output before asking for an email is increasingly rare and it is the right way to sell an audit tool.

How much does Plexa Trust cost?

Plexa publishes five tiers in pounds sterling. Free is GBP 0 for one website with basic trust scanning, a trust score and issue list, a free scan preview and community support. Pro is GBP 9.99 a month for up to 10 websites, adding scheduled scans, monitoring and email alerts, AI reports, PDF exports and enhanced trust seal customisation. Business is GBP 29.99 a month for up to 100 websites, adding team members, API access, advanced AI consultants, compliance and executive reporting, historical analytics and white-label reports. Agency is GBP 79.99 a month for unlimited client organisations, a client dashboard, bulk scanning, white-label branding and higher API limits. Enterprise starts at GBP 249 a month and is quoted individually for SSO, SCIM, RBAC and SLA options.

Annual billing is available at GBP 99.99, GBP 299 and GBP 799 a year for the three self-serve paid tiers. We checked the discount against the vendor’s own “Save ~17%” badge and it holds: GBP 9.99 times 12 is GBP 119.88, so the annual price of GBP 99.99 saves 16.6 percent. Business saves 16.9 percent and Agency 16.8 percent. The badge is honest.

For context, dedicated website security platforms like Detectify sell from free to enterprise with pricing aimed at security teams, and a professional SEO crawler alone typically costs more per month than Plexa’s Pro tier. Ten sites for GBP 9.99 is aggressive pricing for what it covers.

Why does the annual view quote a monthly figure that does not match?

Here is the one clear error on the page, and we found it by comparing the pricing card’s rendered text against the attributes behind the monthly and yearly toggle.

Switch the toggle to Yearly and the Pro card shows GBP 99.99 per year. Directly beneath it, the explanatory line reads “GBP 9.99/mo billed annually”. Those two statements disagree. GBP 99.99 a year is GBP 8.33 a month. GBP 9.99 a month billed annually would be GBP 119.88 a year, which is the monthly price, not the annual one.

The same mismatch repeats on both other paid tiers. Business shows GBP 299 a year with a sub-line reading “GBP 29.99/mo billed annually”, where the correct figure is GBP 24.92. Agency shows GBP 799 a year against a sub-line of “GBP 79.99/mo billed annually”, where the correct figure is GBP 66.58.

The good news for buyers is that this fails in the customer’s favour. The headline annual prices are the real ones and they are the cheaper ones, and the discount matches the advertised 17 percent. The sub-line is stale copy that simply restates the monthly rate. But on a product whose entire proposition is that it audits your website for credibility problems, an arithmetic contradiction on the vendor’s own pricing page is an awkward thing to leave sitting there. It is the kind of finding Plexa’s own scanner should arguably catch.

What are the risks of a solo-built trust platform?

Plexa is built by one person, and we take solo-maker products seriously when they have an owned domain, a committed published price and a substantial site, all of which apply here. But the specific category raises two issues worth naming.

The first is that a trust badge is a promise to your visitors. If you embed a live TrustScore on your checkout page and the verification service goes away, you are left with a broken badge in the most sensitive place on your site. That is a worse failure than a report you stop receiving. Anyone embedding badges should know how to remove them quickly.

The second is that the higher tiers sell compliance and executive reporting, SSO, SCIM, RBAC and audit centres from GBP 249 a month. Those are enterprise procurement features, and enterprise procurement will ask about company structure, security posture and business continuity. The site names a team page but no company entity, certifications or subprocessors that we could find.

To Plexa’s credit, it runs its own scanner against itself and publishes the result, showing a Platinum Trust score of 100 with a manual verification date. Eating your own cooking in public is a good sign. It is not a substitute for the assurance an enterprise buyer will want at the GBP 249 tier, and we would treat the top of this ladder as aspirational for now.

Who is Plexa Trust best for?

Use Plexa Trust if you run an agency managing client websites, or an e-commerce store where visible credibility affects conversion. The Agency tier at GBP 79.99 for unlimited client organisations with white-label reports and bulk scanning is priced well below what agencies typically pay for separate security and SEO tooling, and the client dashboard is built for exactly that workflow. Small SaaS companies and small businesses that need to prove security and compliance to partners are the other natural fit, which matches the vendor’s own stated audience.

Skip Plexa Trust if you have a security team. The checks here are the well-understood external ones, and a team that already runs proper vulnerability scanning and penetration testing will find the TrustScore too shallow to be useful. Skip it too if you only manage one site and are technical enough to read a headers report yourself, because the free tier plus a few open tools will cover you.

Best Plexa Trust alternatives

Detectify publishes plans from free to enterprise covering surface monitoring, application scanning and API security. It is a real security product for security teams, considerably deeper on vulnerabilities and considerably narrower on SEO, accessibility and compliance. Different buyer, different depth.

A dedicated SEO crawler such as Screaming Frog or Ahrefs Site Audit will beat Plexa comfortably on the SEO half of the score, with far more detail on crawl issues, redirects and structured data. It will tell you nothing about your SSL certificate, your privacy policy or your SPF record.

Free individual tools covering the same ground exist and cost nothing: securityheaders.com for headers, SSL Labs for certificates, Lighthouse for performance and accessibility, and MXToolbox for SPF and DMARC. The catch is that you have to remember to run four tools, interpret four outputs and repeat that monthly. Plexa’s actual product is the consolidation and the schedule, not the checks.

Final verdict: is Plexa Trust worth it?

Plexa Trust is a well-judged product at a fair price. Consolidating security, SEO, accessibility and compliance into one ranked list with fix guides is the right answer for a buyer who does not have specialists in any of those areas, the free scan without an account is the correct way to demonstrate it, and GBP 9.99 for ten monitored sites is cheap enough that the decision does not need much analysis. The Agency tier is the standout value.

What holds it back is polish at the edges and assurance at the top. The annual pricing sub-lines contradict the annual prices above them on all three paid tiers, which is a small error with a poor look on a credibility product. The enterprise tier sells SSO, SCIM and audit features from GBP 249 a month with no company assurance behind them yet. And embedding a live badge from a single-maker service is a dependency worth thinking about before you put it on a checkout page. Buy Pro or Agency with confidence. Treat Enterprise as a conversation rather than a purchase.

Plexa Trust Pros & Cons

What We Like

  • Consolidates security, SEO, accessibility and compliance into one ranked TrustScore instead of four separate tools
  • AI fix guides state business impact, difficulty, time estimate and the score recovery you should expect
  • Free scan runs with no account and no card, showing the core output before asking for an email
  • Agency tier at GBP 79.99 covers unlimited client organisations with white-label reports and bulk scanning
  • Annual discount is honest: we checked all three tiers and the saving is 16.6 to 16.9 percent against the advertised 17 percent
  • The vendor runs its own scanner against itself and publishes the result

What Could Be Better

  • The yearly view contradicts itself on all three paid tiers: Pro shows GBP 99.99 a year above a line reading GBP 9.99/mo billed annually, which would be GBP 119.88
  • Enterprise sells SSO, SCIM, RBAC and audit features from GBP 249 a month with no company entity, certifications or subprocessors published
  • An embedded live trust badge on a checkout page is a visible dependency on a single-maker service
  • Solo founder with no published status page or business continuity information
  • Checks are the well-understood external ones, so any team with real vulnerability scanning will find it shallow

Plexa Trust FAQ

What is Plexa Trust?

Plexa Trust runs more than 50 automated checks against a website and combines them into a single TrustScore. It covers SSL certificates and expiry, security headers, exposed sensitive paths, privacy and cookie policies, SEO signals, accessibility, SPF and DMARC email security, DNS, robots.txt and security.txt. Plexa AI then writes a fix guide for each finding, and paid plans add embeddable trust badges.

How much does Plexa Trust cost?

Free is GBP 0 for one website. Pro is GBP 9.99 a month for up to 10 sites, or GBP 99.99 a year. Business is GBP 29.99 a month for up to 100 sites, or GBP 299 a year. Agency is GBP 79.99 a month for unlimited client organisations, or GBP 799 a year. Enterprise starts at GBP 249 a month and is quoted individually.

Is Plexa Trust worth it?

Yes for agencies and small e-commerce sites. Ten monitored sites for GBP 9.99 a month is cheap for what it covers, and the Agency tier at GBP 79.99 for unlimited client organisations undercuts what agencies usually pay for separate security and SEO tools. It is not worth it if you have a security team, since the checks are the standard external ones and will be too shallow.

What are the best Plexa Trust alternatives?

Detectify publishes plans from free to enterprise covering surface monitoring, application scanning and API security, and is far deeper on vulnerabilities but silent on SEO and compliance. A dedicated SEO crawler such as Screaming Frog or Ahrefs Site Audit beats it on the SEO half. Free individual tools like securityheaders.com, SSL Labs, Lighthouse and MXToolbox cover the same checks if you are willing to run four tools monthly.

Does Plexa Trust offer a free plan?

Yes, and you can run a scan without creating an account at all. The free scan needs no credit card and returns results in under a minute. Creating a free account covers one website with basic trust scanning, the trust score and issue list, and community support. The full audit report, monitoring, AI fix guides and trust badges require a paid plan.

Who is Plexa Trust best for?

Agencies managing client websites, e-commerce stores where visible credibility affects conversion, and small SaaS companies that need to prove security and compliance to partners. The consolidation into one score matters most for buyers who do not have specialists in security, SEO or accessibility. It is the wrong tool for a company that already runs proper vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
