Accordio Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict

Reviewed by MakerStack · Published · 7 min read

TLDR

Accordio is a back office for solo freelancers: a free Mac time tracker plus paid contracts, proposals, invoices and an assistant you can drive from Claude or WhatsApp. It is cheap, clever and very young. Best for: Mac-based solo consultants who already live in Claude. Price: from $29/mo billed yearly, free plan yes. Rating: 7/10.

What is Accordio?

We found Accordio on Product Hunt, where it launched on 11 September 2026. That was not its first outing: the product had two earlier launches, the first in 2025, so this is a relaunch with a new angle. The pitch this time is simple. Claude can write a contract, but it can’t track an hour, collect a signature or chase a late invoice. Accordio wants to be the part that can.

In practice it is an all-in-one freelancer suite in the same family as HoneyBook, Bonsai and Moxie, with two twists. The time tracker is a free, open source Mac app, and the whole product is exposed to AI assistants through a connector with 44 tools. The service is run by Deduxer SRL, a company registered in Chisinau, Moldova, according to its refund policy and terms.

What Are Accordio’s Key Features?

A free Mac tracker that records the day for you

The tracker lives in the macOS menu bar and samples the active window every 5 seconds. It notices pauses and calls, then sorts time into 14 categories using a local scorer that needs no network. You never press start. The code is on GitHub under the MIT licence, with version 1.7.0 shipped on 24 September 2026 and a Homebrew cask that points at the same release. It needs macOS 12 or later and Accessibility permission, and without that permission it records nothing.

Claude, ChatGPT and Codex as the controls

Add one connector URL to Claude and it gets 44 tools covering hours, clients, unbilled totals, invoices, contracts, calendar and to-dos. The same URL works in Claude Code, Codex and ChatGPT. The design choice we like most: sending, signing and deleting are not on the connector at all. Claude drafts, and you send from Accordio. Reads over the connector cost no credits, and the connector itself is free forever.

Contracts, proposals and invoices from a sentence

Describe a deal and Accordio drafts a contract with payment terms, then sends it for e-signature. Signatures carry a timestamp, IP address and audit trail, and the company says they meet the US ESIGN rules and EU eIDAS. Proposals track opens and turn into a contract and invoice when accepted. There are 12 document themes, a client portal behind a magic link, and export to PDF, CSV or JSON.

Bank matching instead of payment fees

This is the sharpest difference from HoneyBook. Accordio takes 0% commission because it never touches the money. Clients pay by bank transfer, and a Plaid bank link matches deposits to open invoices. If you want cards, you add your own Stripe, PayPal or Wise link and that provider bills you directly. Receipts, expenses, a profit and loss report and a tax report sit in the paid plan too.

What Is It Like to Use Accordio?

Accordio is chat first. You can text it on WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack, ask Claude, or open the web app and the Mac menu bar app. The marketing examples are all short commands: log 90 minutes for a client, invoice last week, find 30 minutes with a contact. It answers with a draft and asks before sending.

There is also a proactive side. The assistant sends morning briefings, overdue invoice reminders and deadline warnings without being asked, and with Google connected it reads mail and drafts replies. That is useful, and also a lot of access to hand a young product. The privacy policy is clear on the key point: content goes to Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure and Google as sub-processors, and none of them may train on it.

Onboarding is light. The trial needs no card, nothing charges automatically when it ends, and the free tier keeps your tracker, clients and projects. Contracts, proposals, invoices and e-signatures go read-only rather than vanishing, which is the fair way to run a trial.

Where Does Accordio Fall Short?

The automatic tracker is Mac only. The download page lists Windows as coming soon, and Windows and phone users get manual entries and chat instead. Since the free plan is basically the tracker, a PC user gets far less from Accordio than a Mac user does.

Accordio is also very new. Its open source tracker repo was created on 27 August 2026 and had 3 stars when we checked. The integrations list is long, with Gmail, HubSpot, Salesforce, QuickBooks Online, Jira and dozens more, but it routes through a third-party broker called Composio. We could not test how deep each sync goes.

The marketing copy needs an edit. The pricing FAQ answers the question of how clients pay with the word No before explaining that they pay by bank transfer. The savings table lists nine tools totalling $188 a month, while the badge under it says Accordio replaces $200+ a month, and the site FAQ says it replaces four subscriptions. The line about doing the job of 9+ platforms to save over $2,000 a year closely mirrors HoneyBook’s own pricing page, which uses 5+.

AI contracts carry an AI-drafted label, and the terms tell you to have a licensed attorney review every draft before sending. That is honest, but it undercuts the two-minute contract pitch. There is also no team plan: this is built for one person. US users accept binding arbitration under AAA rules, with a 30-day opt-out.

How Much Does Accordio Cost?

Accordio starts at $29 a month billed yearly ($348), or $39 billed monthly, for its single paid plan, Legend. The Free plan costs $0 forever and covers the Mac tracker, timers, unlimited clients and projects, the Claude connector and logging hours by chat. Legend unlocks contracts, proposals, invoices, e-signatures, the assistant, scheduling, meeting notes and custom branding.

Legend includes 10,000 AI credits a month. Unlike many credit systems, the costs are published: a chat message is 10 credits, an email 25, an invoice 50 and a contract 150. At the monthly price that works out to about 59 cents per AI-drafted contract. The site says 10,000 credits covers roughly 20 contracts, 60 invoices, 120 emails and 100 questions, and that sum is exactly right.

Heavier users pick more credits. From the pricing page code: 20,000 credits cost $75 a month or $672 a year, 40,000 cost $145 or $1,296, and 60,000 cost $209 or $1,860. The trial lasts 14 days with 5,000 credits. Billing runs through Paddle as merchant of record, cancellation keeps access to the end of the period, and there are no partial refunds beyond statutory rights such as the EU and UK 14-day withdrawal.

Against rivals, Accordio is mid-priced. HoneyBook Starter is $29 a month billed yearly, and HoneyBook charges 2.7% plus 10 cents on cards. Bonsai Basic is $9 per user a month billed yearly, and Moxie Starter is $10 a month billed yearly. None of those rivals bundle a Claude connector or an automatic tracker.

Who is Accordio Best For?

Use Accordio if you are a solo consultant, designer or developer on a Mac who already asks Claude for help and bills by the hour. The free tracker alone is a good reason to try it, and the connector turns unbilled hours into a draft invoice in two or three messages. It also suits anyone tired of payment platforms taking a cut, since bank transfer invoices cost nothing extra.

Skip Accordio if you work on Windows, run a team, or want card payments built in with no setup. Skip it too if you want a proven tool with years of history and reviews, or if handing an assistant access to your email and bank feed makes you uneasy.

Best Accordio Alternatives

HoneyBook

The best-known name in this category, with proposals, contracts, invoices and its own card payments. Starter is $29 a month billed yearly, Essentials $49 billed yearly or $59 monthly, and Premium $109 billed yearly or $129 monthly. Cards cost 2.7% plus 10 cents and bank transfers 1.5%.

Bonsai

A mature freelancer suite with time tracking, proposals, contracts and invoicing, priced per user. Basic is $9 a month billed yearly or $15 monthly, Essentials $19 or $25, and Premium $29 or $39. It suits freelancers who want an established tool and may add people later.

Moxie

The cheapest of the three, with proposals, contracts, time tracking, a sales pipeline and basic accounting. Starter is $10 a month billed yearly or $12 monthly, Pro $20 or $25, and Teams $32 or $40 for up to five people. It has its own AI assistant, though not a Claude connector.

Final Verdict: Is Accordio Worth It?

Accordio has the smartest take on AI we have seen in the freelancer back office category. The free open source tracker, the published credit costs, the zero-commission payments and the rule that Claude can draft but never send are all good decisions. At $29 a month billed yearly it is priced like HoneyBook Starter while doing more of the paperwork for you.

It is also months old, Mac bound for its best feature, and its marketing copy is looser than its product. We would start on the free tracker, connect it to Claude, and run the 14-day Legend trial on one real client before moving contracts and invoices over. For Mac-based solo workers, it is worth that test. Teams and Windows users should wait.
