Arbyn Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
Arbyn is an AI customer support and sales agent for Shopify stores. It answers email and live chat in your voice, changes shipping addresses on its own, and drafts refunds, cancellations and gift cards for you to approve with one tap. Our verdict: the flat pricing is the product, and it is a serious argument. Best for: Shopify stores drowning in support email. Price: free plan, then $59 or $99/mo. Rating: 8/10.
What is Arbyn?
Arbyn is a Shopify app that reads your support inbox and your live chat, pulls the relevant order and catalog data out of Shopify, drafts a reply in your voice, and then acts on the order. It reads your orders, products, policies and shipping zones on install, so there is no knowledge base to write before the first email arrives. Most stores are live in under ten minutes.
The split that matters is between actions Arbyn takes alone and actions it asks about. Shipping address changes it handles by itself, because the worst case is a corrected address. Anything that moves money waits for you: refunds, cancellations, discounts, gift cards, reships and returns are drafted and executed in Shopify only after a one-tap approval. Every action has an on/off toggle, a refund ceiling, blocking by order tag and custom escalation triggers, and the whole thing is logged on the Shopify order timeline.
Arbyn was built by Odera Joseph Echendu and it works with Shopify and Shopify Plus. It runs on email and live chat today; Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger and SMS are listed as coming soon, and we would not buy on the promise. Replies go out in 21 languages automatically.
What are Arbyn’s key features?
Actions inside Shopify, not just answers about it
Plenty of support tools can read your Shopify data and write a nice paragraph about it. The customer still ends up waiting for a human to open the admin and click refund. Arbyn closes that loop. It cancels the order, issues the refund, applies the discount, sends the gift card and processes the return, from inside the conversation, once you approve. That is the difference between a tool that drafts and a tool that resolves, and it is the reason the flat price is defensible at all.
Voice fingerprint and a supervised ramp
Arbyn drafts in your voice rather than in generic support-bot English, and it earns autonomy instead of assuming it. On install it shadows 50 conversations, drafting replies for your review and calibrating from your edits. That is a sensible onboarding design and it is the right answer to the main objection store owners have about handing their inbox to an agent. It also means the first week is real work for you, which the marketing understates.
A guardrails engine you configure, not a personality you hope for
You define refund ceilings, return windows, fraud signals and store-specific edge cases as rules. Complex conversations escalate to you with the full thread attached. This is the part that separates a product you can leave running from a demo. We would want to see how well the fraud signals hold up at volume, but the shape is right: explicit limits, not prompt engineering.
Sales that runs on the same agent
Arbyn also does abandoned cart recovery, browse-but-did-not-buy outreach, past customer re-engagement, product recommendations and bundle offers in chat, plus automated review requests after the order. Every sale it drives is tagged on the Shopify order and attributed in a dashboard. Bundling support and sales into one agent at one price is unusual, and for a small store it removes a second subscription. For a larger store it will read as two half-products rather than two good ones, and the sales half is the newer half.
Analytics that measure the agent, not the inbox
Arbyn scores customer satisfaction on every resolved conversation and tracks response times, resolution rates and sentiment per channel. That is the minimum you need to decide whether to widen its autonomy, and it is more useful than ticket-volume dashboards, because the question you actually have is “should I let it refund without asking”.
How much does Arbyn cost?
Arbyn starts free. Starter is $0/month with 150 AI conversations per calendar month, Growth is $59/month for 500, and Agent is $99/month for unlimited conversations, or $990 a year. Every feature is on all three plans. Nothing is metered per resolution, per seat or per ticket, and there are no overages: if you hit your plan’s limit, new conversations simply wait for a human instead of billing you.
Set that against the category. Gorgias publishes a $1.50 fee for each automated interaction past your plan’s allowance, and its own pricing page carries a $550/month tier. Intercom charges $39, $99 or $139 per seat per month depending on plan and prices Fin at $0.99 per resolution on top, with a minimum monthly commitment. Both are respected products. Both also mean your support bill grows in direct proportion to how well the AI works, which is a strange incentive to accept.
Arbyn’s pricing page carries a calculator comparing itself against 30 named competitors with their published rates, and a footnote explaining exactly which assumptions are Arbyn’s own (one conversation equals one ticket, 30 percent AI resolution). We checked Gorgias and Intercom independently on their own pages and the rates Arbyn quotes are real. Publishing your competitors’ pricing models accurately, including the assumptions that flatter you, is the most credible thing on the site.
Does flat pricing actually survive contact with volume?
This is the question worth asking before you switch, because flat pricing on a product with a real per-conversation inference cost is a bet the vendor is making, not a law of nature. At $99 for unlimited conversations, a store doing 20,000 support emails a month is buying inference for well under a cent each. That is either a deliberate land-grab price or a price that changes.
We would take the annual plan at $990 for exactly this reason. It locks the rate for a year, and Arbyn’s own FAQ commits to holding $99 through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which is when a metered competitor’s bill triples and when this pricing model is worth the most. If the flat rate does get repriced later, you will have had a year at the introductory number and a clean exit.
The related risk is the one you cannot price: this is a single-founder product handling refunds inside your store. The guardrails are good, the approval gate on money movement is the right design, and the Shopify order timeline gives you an audit trail. But there is no SOC 2 badge, no named enterprise customers and no independent track record on the site. Start it on the free tier, watch the 50 shadow conversations closely, and widen the toggles one at a time.
| Plan | Price | Plan Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0/mo | 150 AI conversations per calendar month, every feature included | Small stores testing the agent before paying |
| Growth | $59/mo | 500 AI conversations per calendar month, every feature included | Stores with steady support volume |
| Agent | $99/mo | Unlimited AI conversations, or $990 a year, every feature included | High-volume stores replacing a metered helpdesk |
Who is Arbyn best for?
Use Arbyn if you run a Shopify or Shopify Plus store where support email is the bottleneck and your current tool bills you per ticket or per AI resolution. The savings are real at moderate volume and get better as you grow, which is the opposite of every incumbent. It is a particularly good fit for a store with one or two people doing support, where the alternative is not a cheaper tool but nobody answering until Tuesday.
Use it too if you are on Gorgias or Intercom and your AI line item has quietly become the largest part of the bill. The migration cost is an afternoon, and the free tier lets you run both in parallel for a month.
Skip Arbyn if you are not on Shopify, because the entire product is built on Shopify’s order data and actions. Skip it if support arrives mainly through Instagram DMs or SMS, since both are unreleased. Skip it if you need SOC 2, a signed DPA and a vendor security review to onboard anything, because a solo-founder product will not clear that gate yet. And skip it if your support volume is low, since 150 free conversations a month may simply be enough and you should not pay $59 out of optimism.
Best Arbyn alternatives
Gorgias is the default Shopify helpdesk and the one Arbyn benchmarks itself against hardest. It is more mature, has a real integration ecosystem and handles voice and SMS. Its published model bundles helpdesk and AI Agent, with $1.50 per automated interaction above your allowance and a $550/month tier on its own pricing page. Pick it if you want the established answer and can absorb a bill that scales with automation.
Intercom with Fin is the best AI resolution quality in the category and the most expensive way to get it: $39, $99 or $139 per seat per month plus $0.99 per Fin resolution, with a minimum commitment. It is not Shopify-native, so order actions need integration work Arbyn gets for free. Worth it for a larger team that already lives in Intercom.
Your Shopify inbox plus saved replies is the alternative nobody sells you. If you do 50 support emails a week, Arbyn’s free tier covers it and you should not upgrade until it does not. The product is honest enough to make this easy, since hitting the cap costs you nothing.
Final verdict: is Arbyn worth it?
Arbyn is the rare launch where the pricing page is the strongest part of the product rather than the weakest. Flat rates on a category built entirely on meters is a real position, the comparison work behind it is accurate and cited, and the approval gate on anything that moves money is the correct piece of engineering to build first. The Shopify-native actions are what make it more than a drafting tool, and the 50-conversation shadow period shows someone thought about how trust actually gets earned.
It loses points for being new, single-founder and thin outside email and chat, with Instagram, Messenger and SMS all still promises. None of that is disqualifying at $0 to start. If you run a Shopify store and pay per ticket today, install it free, run it beside your current helpdesk for a month, and compare the bill and the CSAT. That is a cheap experiment with an obvious answer at the end of it, and we would expect most stores under 5,000 conversations a month to switch.

- Flat pricing with no per-ticket, per-seat or per-resolution fees and no overages

What Could Be Better
- Single-founder product handling money movement, with no SOC 2 and no named customers
- Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger and SMS are all still unreleased
- Shopify-only, so the entire product is unusable on any other platform
- Flat pricing on real inference cost may not survive at scale, so the annual rate is the safer buy
Arbyn FAQ
What is Arbyn?
Arbyn is an AI customer support and sales agent for Shopify. It reads your support email and live chat, pulls order and catalog data from Shopify, drafts a reply in your voice and then acts on the order. Address changes it handles alone; refunds, cancellations, discounts, gift cards, reships and returns wait for your one-tap approval.
How much does Arbyn cost?
Arbyn is $0 a month on Starter with 150 AI conversations, $59 a month on Growth with 500, and $99 a month on Agent for unlimited conversations, or $990 a year. Every feature is on all three plans and nothing is metered per resolution, per seat or per ticket.
Is Arbyn worth it?
Yes for most Shopify stores under roughly 5,000 conversations a month, especially if your current tool bills per ticket or per AI resolution. Install it free, run it alongside your existing helpdesk for a month, and compare the bill and the CSAT. It is not worth it if you need SOC 2 and a vendor security review to onboard anything.
What are the best Arbyn alternatives?
Gorgias is the established Shopify helpdesk, with a $1.50 fee per automated interaction above your allowance and a $550/month tier on its own pricing page. Intercom with Fin costs $39, $99 or $139 per seat per month plus $0.99 per resolution. For low volume, the Shopify inbox plus saved replies is still a reasonable answer.
Does Arbyn offer a free plan?
Yes. The Starter plan is free forever and includes 150 AI conversations per calendar month with every feature unlocked. Reaching the limit costs nothing: new conversations simply wait for a human instead of billing you.
Who is Arbyn best for?
Shopify and Shopify Plus stores with one or two people handling support, where email is the bottleneck and the current tool meters tickets or AI resolutions. It is a poor fit for non-Shopify stores or for teams whose support arrives mainly through Instagram DMs or SMS.
